About
Christiana is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specializing in the pathophysiology of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Her research explores how pancreatic islet are affected in T1D, with an emphasis on understanding their spatial distribution and cellular heterogeneity. By combining wet lab methods such as immunohistochemistry with advanced imaging and computational image analysis, she bridges experimental and analytical approaches to investigate disease mechanisms at the tissue level. Christiana is particularly interested in leveraging cutting-edge microscopy and spatial analysis to identify patterns that could reveal how autoimmunity develops and progresses in T1D. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of the disease, with the ultimate goal of informing the development of targeted interventions and therapeutic strategies for diabetes.
